Karen has led Rainbow Hospice for 25 years. As a Registered Nurse who joined the organization in 1997, Karen recognized the importance of high-quality end-of-life care for the most vulnerable among us. Over the next 25 years, Karen contributed to extraordinary growth in the number of patients we are privileged to serve. Karen oversaw the construction of an 8-bed inpatient hospice facility in 2011, the creation of Rainbow’s Supportive Care Management program, and Rainbow Hospice Care’s deep collaboration with our community partners. Karen is active in our state hospice organization and with our statewide hospice and palliative care collaborative.

Carol has been with Rainbow since 2002. She started as an RN Case Manager and has served in several different roles throughout the years until accepting her current position in 2013. As VP of Quality and Clinical Operations, Carol provides overall planning, direction, and education for all quality and clinical activities within the organization.

As Chief Financial Officer, Michael oversees the accounting, finance, human resources, information technology, and facilities at Rainbow Hospice Care. Michael has spent most of his professional career as a member of RHC’s leadership team. He began his employment toward the end of 2013 as the Organization’s first Director of Finance and IT, a new role which the Board of Directors approved to better position RHC for continued growth.
As a part of the Senior Leadership team, Michael has been involved the tremendous growth experienced at Rainbow Hospice Care with the number of patients served and the number extraordinary staff that make this a special organization. The accomplishments of this group include the creation of the Rainbow Hospice Foundation, the design and construction of the Rainbow Hospice Care Inpatient Center and the expansion of services to include Palliative Care. As the number of support staff continued to grow, including a Systems Administrator, an HR Generalist and a Facilities Manager, Michael transitioned into his current role as Chief Financial Officer.

Dr. McGorey began his relationship with Rainbow Hospice Care in 2003 while practicing family medicine in Johnson Creek. He has continued to serve the organization on a part-time basis and in various capacities over the years. After practicing for 11 years as a hospitalist in Watertown and then Fort Atkinson, Dr. McGorey became Rainbow’s first full-time Medical Director in January 2020. He now provides daily guidance and support to the front-line clinical teams that serve our patients in their homes and various local facilities and direct patient care to patients at the Rainbow Hospice Care Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek. He also serves on several committees to provide medical guidance to the Leadership Team that impacts many of the organization's policies and quality initiatives. He has always had a passion for providing quality palliative and end-of-life care and is happy to make this the primary focus of his clinical practice now.

Angie started her career in hospice 15 years ago. She began working as an RN Case Manager with Rainbow Hospice Care in 2013 and transitioned into the Inpatient Center Manager role in 2015. Angie has been certified in hospice and palliative care (CHPN) since 2009 and is currently working as the Director of Nursing for the organization and oversees both the Inpatient Center and Home Hospice.

Mindy is a CAPSW (Certified Advanced Practice Social Worker) and has been with Rainbow since 2009. In her tenure, she has helped train and guide the social service department, which has expanded to include ten Social Workers, a Chaplain, and two Bereavement Counselors. Mindy continues to grow in her practice as the Social Worker serving the Rainbow Hospice Care Inpatient Center and continues to be a strong advocate for Advance Care Planning as a trained facilitator and former instructor for Honoring Choices Wisconsin.

Kelly joined the Rainbow Hospice Care team in January of 2021, bringing five years of nursing management experience. She is responsible for the direction, coordination, management, and supervision of services provided to patients served by the home hospice clinical team.

Jeanine serves the organization as a clinical manager and staff development coordinator. Jeanine is a bachelors-prepared Registered Nurse with most of her nursing career experience in hospice and palliative care. As a nurse educator, Jeanine oversees orientation and provides guidance and education to the clinical department in all areas and topics related to hospice care.

In his role as the organization’s chief business development officer, Mike works closely with our patient care teams and external referral sources to build the depth and breadth of the community’s understanding about the value of advance care planning, palliative care and hospice. He regularly utilizes market intelligence combined with analytics to identify opportunities for growth, develop strategic communication campaigns, and measure progress toward mission fulfillment. Over time, his efforts have produced one of the nation’s highest Medicare Hospice Utilization Rates (per Hospice Analytics, Jefferson County ranked 35th out of 3,143 counties nationally in 2019). Mike is also well known for his groundbreaking work as co-producer of Consider the Conversation, the Emmy-nominated PBS film series.

Michelle has been involved in many different areas in her 14 years at Rainbow Hospice Care, including office management, project and event management, and human resources. In her current role as HR Manager, she supports the company and employees throughout the employee life cycle, including interviewing and hiring, payroll, policies, and benefits and leave administration.

Brooke is a seasoned healthcare professional with 20+ years of experience working in a variety of roles including clinical research coordination, clinic management, and community-based residential facility management. In her role as Rainbow’s Director of Quality and Compliance, she provides education and guidance on regulatory and quality initiatives throughout the organization. Brooke also serves as the company’s Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Official.

Kate comes to Rainbow Hospice Care from Recover Health, a home health and private duty nursing provider, where she previously served as Administrator. In her current role at Rainbow, she manages our Supportive Care Management program, a special kind of community-based palliative care that helps patients and caregivers who are struggling with the burdens associated with living with advancing chronic disease, and our new Community Resource Liaison, a person solely dedicated to working with local churches and parish nurses to connect vulnerable patient populations with needed resources. Kate also serves as Administrator of the Wisconsin Hospice and Palliative Care Collaborative (WHPCC), a partnership of the state’s six leading nonprofit hospice and palliative care organizations that is designed to improve the patient experience and quality of care while demonstrating value to the market by achieving improved clinical outcomes and cost savings.

Jill started at Rainbow as a volunteer in March 2011 when the Rainbow Hospice Care Inpatient Center first opened its doors. Jill was then hired in December of 2012 as our volunteer coordinator due to the volunteer program doubling in size. Jill and the volunteer department are responsible for recruiting, training, and overseeing 200 volunteers that range in age from 8 to 91. Jill also manages the Your Friends in Action (YFIA) program. YFIA is a volunteer program managed by RHC intended for non-hospice patients living with chronic illness and disability and whom could benefit from “neighborly” support to maintain their independence.

Lisa is our newest volunteer coordinator. A retired Sergeant with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, she first began volunteering at Rainbow in March of 2022, inspired by the care provided to her mother by our hospice team. In her role, Lisa is responsible for volunteer recruitment and helping patients on our hospice and Your Friends In Action (YFIA) programs who are looking for volunteers to help them with activities like transportation, friendly visits, haircuts, and shopping.

Kenyon is Rainbow Hospice Care's marketing and communications manager. As a highly-skilled marketing communications professional with 15+ years of experience, Kenyon successfully transitioned from broadcast journalism to end-of-life care. Kenyon's storytelling during the COVID-19 pandemic helped produce record-high referrals, admissions, and an average daily census at Rainbow Hospice Care.
Kenyon manages Rainbow Hospice Care's social media presence and has also developed creative graphic designs and strategic video content for a variety of uses across various platforms and mediums. Kenyon's use of narrative medicine has helped Rainbow fulfill its mission and teaches the community it serves about the value of advance care planning, palliative care, and hospice. His strategic skills helped launch several new campaigns, such as Rainbow's 30th anniversary, the 10th anniversary of their Inpatient Center, and several other annual and special events.

As Rainbow's lead project manager, Emy organizes teams that plan and execute major events designed to enhance the organization’s image in the community, educate the referral base, inspire loyalty among healthcare professionals and the end-consumer, and also raise funds that support organizational mission fulfillment. Annual events managed include Rainbow Hospice Care’s Golf Outing, Memorial Service, Ethics and Boundaries Workshop, Holiday Grief Program, Volunteer Appreciation Picnic, and various fundraising events. Emy also spearheads strategic planning and execution for special projects such as the Rainbow Hospice Care Inpatient Center 10th anniversary campaign, Rainbow Hospice Care’s 30th-anniversary campaign, and Rainbow Hospice Foundation Brick Memorial Garden campaign.

As our Clinical Facility Liaison, Dana Traynere collaborates with Rainbow’s patient care and business development teams to further our mission of providing comfort, care, and meaning at end-of-life. In particular, she develops close working relationships with care partners working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and hospitals, focusing primarily on meeting their educational needs and service expectations. Dana is a registered nurse with extensive healthcare experience that includes stints on the Medical/Surgical floor at Mercy Hospital in Janesville, with Rainbow Hospice Care as an RN Case Manager, and as the Director of Health Services at Reena Senior Living. Dana has a deep love and appreciation for advance care planning, palliative care, and hospice, as she has witnessed the unnecessary suffering they prevent.
Outside of work, Dana is very active in her hometown of Fort Atkinson. She regularly volunteers at fundraising events and serves on the Board of Women Who CARE, an organization that is committed to making a difference in the health and well-being of our communities and the connections we build with one another.

Gina manages the Quality and Process Improvement Program at Rainbow Hospice Care. She has an extensive background in Process Improvement and utilizes the skills she learned from achieving her Six Sigma Black Belt to lead and execute quality initiatives across the entire organization. Gina is also the database administrator for all reporting and electronic health records, as well as any external interfaces.

Bethany Berg is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with previous history as a clinical director in hospice. With an extensive nursing background in emergency medicine, and surgical care, Bethany has gained a unique understanding of the complex needs of patients and their families throughout their healthcare journey. She is passionate about guiding her patients through their disease process and symptom management while also advocating for their wishes and concerns. Bethany is skilled in collaborating with other healthcare providers and specialists within the community to help navigate her patients' goals and medical management.

Shauna Lambrecht is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with experience in hospice, cardiology, chronic disease management, and mental health. Her role in our Support Care Management program, a special kind of palliative care, focuses on helping patients achieve their goals of care and managing their symptoms. With her knowledge and experience, Shauna is able to guide patients and their families through complex healthcare decisions, ensuring that their care aligns with their values and wishes. Using a compassionate approach, Shauna is able to connect with patients during what can be a vulnerable time in their lives. She prioritizes building strong relationships with her patients and their families, ensuring that they feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout their healthcare journey.
