Your Friends in Action was founded in 2003 under the name Faith in Action and in affiliation with Rainbow Hospice Care. The purpose of the organization is to address the needs of a growing number of individuals who need a little extra help to keep living independently in their homes.
Your Friends in Action is a community-based volunteer program serving all of Jefferson County, as well as parts of Dodge and Walworth Counties in South Central Wisconsin. We provide “neighborly” assistance to elderly, disabled, and chronically ill people who have a need for non-medical support that is not available to them through other agencies and programs.
All services are provided free of charge. Although eligibility is not based on financial need, care recipients typically live on a limited income and have no family members, friends, or other resources available to assist them. Depending on the circumstances, the assistance we provide can be short or long-term.
All Your Friends in Action volunteers are screened and trained before given any assignments. Staff members work with volunteers to find projects that match their skills and interests. Volunteers always choose how, when, and where they serve.
Tell your family and friends about Your Friends in Action and encourage them to get involved. We welcome corporate, church, civic, and youth groups. Please call (920) 674-4548 and speak to one of our volunteer coordinators to learn more!

Make a Donation
We rely solely on financial gifts from local individuals, businesses, and other organizations to keep our program going strong. Donations of money, gift or gas cards, in-kind goods, and services are all effective ways to contribute. Regardless of the type or size of your donation, your support will make a difference to those in need.
We are extremely grateful for the support received from Fort HealthCare, Watertown Regional Medical Center, United Way of Jefferson & North Walworth Counties, the Rainbow Hospice Foundation, the Helen Bader Foundation, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Jefferson, Aaron and Lois Johnson, along with many other community partners who share our concern and commitment.
An Hour or Two of Your Time is All it Takes...
Becoming a Your Friends in Action volunteer can be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. Make a world of difference for someone just by making a phone call, paying a social visit, picking up a few groceries, vacuuming a floor, or giving them a ride to a doctor’s appointment.
We hope you will become a volunteer and/or donor so that we can continue to respond to an ever-increasing number of requests for assistance.
