Rainbow Hospice Care Inpatient Center

Built by the Community to Serve the Community.

Built with $4.5 million in donations and on four acres of land gifted to the organization, the Rainbow Hospice Care Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek has served over 2,100 patients since opening on March 3, 2011.

This beautiful, state-of-the-art 8-bed facility specializes in caring for hospice patients who are experiencing a significant medical crisis or whose families need a break from the rigors of caregiving at home.

Conveniently located just north and east of the intersection of Interstate 94 and Highway 26, the Rainbow Hospice Care Inpatient Center offers three different levels of care:

1) General Inpatient (GIP) Care – is available to hospice patients needing more medical and nursing care for symptoms that can’t be effectively managed at home or in a facility. Examples include uncontrolled pain; nausea and vomiting; severe shortness of breath; agitation; seizures; and other difficult to control symptoms.

2) Respite Care – is available to hospice patients whose families need a break from the rigors of care giving at home. Under these circumstances, patients are transferred to our inpatient center for up to five days at a time while their loved ones get much needed rest.

3) Routine or “Residential” Care – is available to hospice patients not in need of general inpatient or respite care but who are choosing to live at the inpatient center until end-of-life.

Please note that a nursing assessment is required for all referrals to verify the most appropriate level of care.

While the cost of general inpatient and respite care is typically fully covered by Medicare, it is important to know that routine level of care patients pay privately for room and board.
